There are 3 main reasons why Gadaffi had to die, none of which has anything to do with Gadaffi killing his own people.
Gadaffi wanted Africa to have its first own communications satellite and in 1992, 42 African countries decided they wanted to have their own satellite instead of using others. This satellite would cover all of Africas communications and it would only cost them 400 million, a one time payment.
Their problem was finding money for this project.
They decided to go to the IMF(International Monetary Fund) for financial support. The IMF was aware of the fact that sponsoring this would be dangerous for western countries. Western countries were making roughly $500 million dollars every year from providing Africa with telecommunications, not including interests.
In 2007 Gadaffi comes up with most of the money for this project and Africa will have its first communications satellite, which will give the opportunity for countries like South Africa, Algeria, Nigeria, Angola and Libya to have their own communications satellite.
Imagine how much money Europe will lose because of this, $500 million per year that Gadaffi makes them lose by sponsoring this satellite, just Gadaffi himself comes up with $300 million while various African countries provide the rest.
This is the main reason why they wanted Gadaffi dead.
Another reason is that Gadaffi along with other African countries decided to create 3 major banks in Africa, the AMF(African Monetary Fund) which was to be opened in 2011, this year.
With an African Monetary Fund, African countries would no longer have to deal with the IMF. Which means some western countries would lose a lot of money if the AMF opened.
When western countries found out this was happening they actually wanted to be a part of it, around 2006 they decided that no countries outside of Africa will be a part of the AMF. Are you beginning to understand what is going on here? Letting them be a part of the AMF will only lead to its power in the wrong hands, they’re aware of this.
The second bank will be the Central African Bank, its headquarters will be in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria. It will stop the African countries from using western currency. Today, if you go to countries like Cameroon you'll see people using the franc CFA. With this bank, they'd have their own currency.
Gadaffi once again came up with most of the money for this project.
The third bank that was supposed to be created was going to headquarter in Libya, called "the bank of investment". This bank would control most of the investments in Africa. It almost seems like Gadaffi is trying to break western economy by doing this, but thats not his intention. His intention is to free Africa from his trap. African people want to be independent, some western countries would prefer just the opposite of that.
The money Obama confiscated is the money that was going to pay for these projects. He's selling you that Gadaffi is using that money to kill his own people with.
The third reason why Gadaffi had to die was because of his idea, The United States of Africa.
Gadaffi had been pushing for African countries to unite, just like the USA.
The first thing you want to do when you want to break a powerful foe is to find a way for them to turn their backs on eachother. This was the first thing western countries with their own interests did in order to keep Africa from becoming too powerful.
The second thing they did was to keep Africans from being educated, which is extremely important for growth. Having educated citizens is key.
The third thing they did was to place dictators in Africa who'll give them whatever they wish. Every time the population confronts these dictators the western countries supports the killing of this (at first) small group, to prevent it from expanding. A commonly used strategy to make the people fear resisting.
They were all surprised about what happened in Tunisia and Egypt, they then took the opportunity to create a problem in Libya. The "uprising" in Libya was way, way smaller. The Libyan population is nearly 7 million people and ~60.000 anti-Gadaffi protesters were seen on the streets. The pro-Gadaffi groups greatly outnumber these few.
In other words, the Libyan uprising was manufactured by western countries. In Libya you get free education and healthcare. Libya is a beautiful country and nothing like what media tries to make it look like. They want you to think Gadaffi is an evil man who spends his money on killing his own people, which was not the case.
The countries that were bombing Libya all had one thing in common, they are broke. All the member countries of NATO are more or less Broke. They couldn’t afford Gadaffis plans to be put in motion. They cannot afford letting Africa become independent. That’s why you see Hillary Clinton going to Africa, telling people to reject Gadaffi.
They even requested that the rebels opened an embacy in Washington DC, making an illegal move legal. They're also telling Africans not to deal with China.
China is the number one investor in Africa. The African communications satellite was put together by the Chinese and Russians.
I'm sure this wasn’t exactly what the African people expected from the first African president of the United States. Invading, bombing, killing civilians and invading countries in the Middle East.
Edit: I'm not saying its NOT about oil, just that they're preventing africa from becoming independent.
Oil plays a part. But their main reason for killing him was because they feared Africa becoming independent and (too)powerful, which they would sooner or later become with all this put in motion.
