In Iceland, the parliament agreed to recognize the sovereignty of Palestine

Parliament adopted today a proposal for the recognition of the independence and sovereignty of Palestine. The motion was approved mótatkvæða free, but sjálfstæðismenn sat in the handling of the case. Palestinian women were in Congress platforms and watched the debate.

Parliament reaffirms the PLO, Palestinian Federation of Freedom, the legitimacy of the representative of the whole Palestinian people, and also recalls the right of Palestinian refugees to return to former homes in accordance with margítrekaðar UN resolutions.

Parliament requires the parties to the dispute in the Middle East that they leave immediately of any armed force and violence and respect human rights and humanitarian law, "the resolution adopted by Parliament today.
